Friends and Neighbors, Welcome to Family-Owned Fusek’s Hardware in Downtown Indy!
We’re Steve and Sue Fusek, and our story begins back in 2000—when we first met at the Indianapolis 500. Those roaring engines weren’t the only sparks flying that day, and it didn’t take long before our shared passion for racing and DIY projects brought us together. Our Store embodies the spirit of hard work, dedication, and a genuine desire to help our customers find exactly what they need.
We both knew early in life that we possessed a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Sue made a name for herself in sales at Welch Packaging, leveraging the skills she learned at her great-great-grandfather’s hardware store. Meanwhile, Steve grew up as his dad’s right-hand man and was a part of every DIY project and went on to have a long Indy Car Racing Career running the business operations for race teams such as PacWest Racing and be the VP of Sales at the CART Series. Since 2010, Steve has managed Two-Time Indy 500 Champion, Takuma Sato, who is a huge part of OUR family and we are extremely proud of what have accomplished.
But we realized that Indianapolis was missing something important for it to be a viable and sustainable for downtown living: a local, independently owned hardware store to support Hoosiers who live downtown and as well as businesses.
Seeing the need in our community, we opened Fusek’s Hardware in June 2004 to provide a trusted family-owned resource for all things hardware and home improvement. We pride ourselves in offering a wide selection of quality tools, home improvement essentials, garden supplies, grilling options and much more. WE understand the importance of getting the right products for the job, and we go the extra mile to ensure each customer leaves satisfied and provide our customers with solutions.
After 20 plus years, we are extremely proud to be your friendly , neighborhood hardware store, where we go above and beyond and strive to be the solution to your problems and provide knowledgeable advice. Because everyone deserves a chance to build the home of their dreams.
